Ben Affleck Sports Dramatic New Look Amid J.Lo Divorce Rumors
Ben Affleck is trying something out. The A-lister was spotted with a new, decidedly punk rock look over the weekend in Los Angeles, with photos first published by The Daily Mail showing Affleck sporting a buzzed faux-hawk, leather motorcycle jacket, and gray skinny jeans while riding a baby blue racing motorcycle around town. The British tabloid called it his “midlife crisis makeover,” a reference to widespread speculation in recent months that the Air star and his wife, Jennifer Lopez, may have hit a rough patch and could be headed for divorce. Affleck was noticeably not wearing his wedding ring in the photos—while Lopez also was spotted without hers as recently as Thursday. The Mail previouslyreported that the pair have prepared legal documents for a divorce, which have yet to be filed, according to sources close to the couple. Affleck also recently purchased a separate home for more than $20 million, just months after he and Lopez listed their own marital home for the eye-watering sum of $61 million.

On Saturday, the federal judge in Donald Trump’s election subversion case struck down the former president’s effort to dismiss the indictment on the argument that Trump was being unfairly prosecuted for political reasons. This is the first notable ruling in the case following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision that former presidents have prosecutorial immunity for “official acts,” the Guardian reported. Trump’s defense team argued that, because other election result challengers were not charged criminally, the former president was being mistreated. Judge Tanya Chutkan responded by clarifying that Trump’s charges were for “knowingly making false statements in furtherance of criminal conspiracies and for obstruction of election certification proceedings,” not simply contesting the election results. A hearing to lay out the next steps in the case is scheduled for Aug. 16.
