BREAKING….Team Canada’s Connor McDavid Shares His Main 2026 Olympics Goal….MORE BOMBSHELL⬇️⬇️
With the 2026 Winter Olympics approaching, players across the NHL are beginning to shift their focus toward international play.
This marks the first Olympic appearance for NHL players since 2014, and several superstars will be making their debut, including Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid.
The three-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner as the MVP of the NHL has long been one of Canada’s most dominant players, but until now, Olympic participation has remained out of reach for him and many other superstars due to league restrictions.
McDavid spoke about finally making it to the Olympics this winter after not being able to do so for the past two editions, even though he was playing in the NHL with the Oilers in 2022 and 2018.

“You always wonder. You never know if you’re going to get the opportunity,” McDavid told the Canadian Press. “But obviously here we are. We’re getting ready to go and gearing up to go. I’m really excited about the opportunity.”
McDavid, who turned 29 in mid-January, reflected on Canada’s historic Olympic moments as he prepares to write his own.
“I vaguely remember the 2002 [Salt Lake City] one,” McDavid said. “I remember the whole thing with the loonie in the ice. That was a pretty cool story, looking back on it. Obviously, there’s the Sid [Crosby] one in 2010. I remember that one pretty good.”

Still, nostalgia is not going to faze McDavid, who made it clear what his No. 1 goal for the Olympics is just two weeks before the puck drops in Italy.
“I just want to win a gold medal, that’s the only thing that matters,” McDavid said. “There’s a lot of great players on that team; everyone is going to play a role, everyone is going to play a part.
“The goal is just to win a gold, that’s it.”
For now, McDavid leads the NHL in points with 92 (33 goals, 59 assists) through 54 games. Team Canada, meanwhile, will open its tournament on Feb. 12 against the Czech Republic.
