A brief interaction between Joe Biden and Barron Trump is going viral on social media again, but a different angle is putting several rumors to rest.
At Donald Trump’s second inauguration in January, his youngest son was spotted shaking hands with the former president — an interaction that was quickly clipped and shared online.
In the clip, Barron, 19, shakes Biden’s hand and “whispers” to the 82-year-old, seemingly causing Biden to “make a face.”

The video was posted on X, with the caption, “Never forget Biden’s face after Barron Trump whispered in his ear at Trump’s inauguration.”
A voice-over could be heard narrating the video, claiming that Barron leans into Biden and says, “It’s on,” before returning to his mother, Melania. The voice-over claims that the new first lady tells her son to “try to be nice,” as Barron looks back on Biden, who makes a “face.”
It looks as if he whispers something to the former president, which has been under much speculation
Several conservative TikTok users shared the video, writing fake captions to “reveal” what Barron actually said to Biden; however, a community note on X claims that the viral clip is misleading.
Community notes is a feature on X that allows users to add context or fact-checks under a post, image, or video on the site. The note under the viral Barron video claims that the video is cropped to not show former Vice President Kamala Harris.
The note reads, “Barron did not whisper to Biden; he was whispering to Kamala Harris. ” A link is provided, showing another angle of the interaction.
However, a different angle shows that Barron was just leaning in to shake Kamala Harris’ hand
Barron shakes Biden’s hand and then quickly does the same with Harris. It looks as if he’s leaning to whisper to Biden, but the second video shows him doing this to get closer to Harris, who is standing next to Biden.
In the comments section, Barron is praised for his impressive manners.
“Direct eye contact and a handshake,” wrote one person. “A respectful thing. Young men don’t do this very often nowadays.”
Another person wrote: “If only everyone was as dignified and respectful as this kind young man.”
“Barron shows more class, compassion, and intelligence than anyone in attendance!!!” wrote another person. “Cannot wait to see where his future takes him!!!”

Unlike Trump’s other children, Barron is rarely spotted in public. He often keeps to himself as he attends classes at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
He recently moved from New York City to the White House with his parents, completing his schooling at NYU’s secondary campus in Washington, D.C.
Despite his reclusivity, his father has dropped several hints about the youngest Trump, including his affinity for tennis, unlike the president, who is an avid golfer.
Trump has also hinted that Barron plays a behind-the-scenes role, helping guide his team in capturing the youth vote through several podcast appearances before the 2024 presidential election.
Some of Trump’s podcast appearances included The Joe Rogan Experience, This Past Weekend with Theo Von, Impaulsive with Logan Paul, and Flagrant with comedian Andrew Schulz.
Earlier this year, Trump praised Barron for being a “smart guy” with a natural ability for technology. “He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology,” the president told Laura Ingraham back in March.
“Barron is a very smart guy.”
