Kim Kardashian has opened up about a heartbreaking moment from her past relationship with Pete Davidson.

After finalizing her divorce from Kanye West, the SKIMS mogul entered a high-profile relationship with the 31-year-old comedian – a romance that, in hindsight, she says was shadowed by public drama involving her ex.

In a new interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kardashian revealed how West’s behavior affected her relationship with Davidson and continues to influence her approach to dating.

“It has definitely affected that,” she told host Alex Cooper on the October 15 episode, referring to having a “vocal ex.” “There [have] been situations where I’ll get maybe close to someone, then it’s like, ‘Wait, wait, wait, wait, I don’t really want to deal with your ex. And I don’t want to deal [with] if he’s gonna say something.’ It has been a little frustrating, but then I get really, my person wouldn’t care about that, you know?”

Kardashian admitted she tries to rise above the noise, but it’s not always easy: “It’s not an easy thing. And I get that.”

“That Really Wasn’t Fair for Him”
When asked specifically about the 48-year-old rapper’s 2022 music video for ‘Eazy’ – which depicted a claymation version of Davidson being kidnapped and buried alive – Kardashian didn’t hold back.

“That made me feel really sad. That really wasn’t fair for him,” she said. “And I felt so sad and sorry for him, and he was such a great man [who] was like, ‘I got this, don’t worry, it’s all good.’ Or at least acted that way. It just, it must suck to be put in that position. So it’s had me put up this guard where I don’t want to put anyone in that position. So it’s easier if I just, maybe, stay away. But I can’t live my life like that either.”

Although she now believes it’s “a non-issue,” Kardashian acknowledged that “you never know” how things might play out when it comes to the ‘DONDA’ rapper and his public statements.

The “Eazy” video featured West rapping: “God saved me from that crash, just so I could beat Pete Davidson’s ass,” and ended with the message, “EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER / EXCEPT SKETE YOU KNOW WHO / JK HE’S FINE.” A second visual showed a skinned monkey attacking a character in a sweatshirt labeled “Skete,” West’s nickname for Davidson.

A source told PEOPLE at the time that Kardashian was “furious” and considered the visuals “way too violent.” “She’s completely over all of this, and she wants it to stop,” the source said.

Life After Divorce
Kardashian and West were married from 2014 until 2022 and share four children: North, 12, Saint, nine, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, six.

Reflecting on their relationship, Kardashian described it as “toxic,” adding that she had to leave to set a better example for her kids. “I had to save myself in order to be a better mum for everyone,” she said, in comments also reported by the Daily Mail. “And I think when everyone’s older, they’ll be able to understand it and see that all.”

“There was just a lot of things that I wouldn’t deal with,” she added. “I didn’t like the talking bad about my kids’ grandmother, aunts – if someone feels that way, then we shouldn’t be together. You know, airing out a lot of stuff, a lot of personal stuff.”

With time and experience, she said, has come a lower tolerance for unhealthy dynamics. “I think when you get older, you just don’t tolerate that s***. You don’t have time.”

While Kardashian said she’s taking a cautious approach to dating, her eldest daughter has other ideas. “You need to have a boyfriend now,” North told her recently. “She just said to me like the other day, like, ‘Mom, you’ve got to get remarried. You’re getting too old and no one is gonna deal with this.’ And I was just like, ‘What?’ She says it to me all the time.”

From Heartbreak to Headlines… and Bush Thongs
While managing the aftermath of a public breakup, Kardashian continues to expand her SKIMS empire – including with her latest viral launch: a faux pubic hair thong.

Called “The Ultimate Bush” thong, the hand-crafted string underwear features curly and straight faux hair in 12 shade variations.

“Just when I think SKIMS can’t get more iconic, they release micro-thong merkins,” one fan wrote. Others joked: “Going to be Wolverine for Halloween and just wear the SKIMS bush thong,” and “Skims bush thong so I can wax myself bald and then cosplay as a true bush queen and steal their valor.”

While some saw it as humorous, others appreciated the potential practical uses. “Wait maybe the SKIMS thong could be for people with alopecia,” one person suggested.

The thong, priced at $32, was clearly a commercial success, selling out quickly on the SKIMS website.
