Beyoncé, to me, doesn’t have a f***ing ‘Purple Rain,’ but she’s the biggest thing on Earth,” he said. “How can you be that big without at least one ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ or ‘Old Time Rock and Roll’?”
Do not mess with Beyoncé or you will definitely feel the wrath of the Beyhive, as Kid Rock is learning firsthand.
And it isn’t just fans of the singer who feel that Kid Rock‘s comments were way out of line. The rocker got too personal in his comments and made the Internet question his integrity.
To set the record straight: While these are all great pieces of musical history, Rock isn’t using anything but his own opinion to compare these albums and songs. We could easily list all of Beyoncé’s accolades compared to these other musical geniuses to prove her prowess, but that isn’t the point. The point is that Kid Rock should recognize and appreciate the diversity in music whether he’s a fan or not.
His comments didn’t stop at criticizing Beyonce‘s talent. Rock took it a step further by making it personal and attacking her looks as well. “People are like, ‘Beyoncé’s hot. Got a nice f***ing ass.’ I’m like, ‘Cool, I like skinny white chicks with big tits.’ Doesn’t really f***ing do much for me.”
And with one foul sentence, Kid Rock has managed to make himself sound like the most misogynistic jerk on the planet with the way he’s objectifying a woman’s body so flippantly. It’s reminiscent of John Mayer’s insulting Playboy interview.
