Olympic gold-winning boxer Imane Khelif fires back at cyberbullies, including both Rowling and Musk in her lawsuit Full story
Both J.K. Rowling and Elon Musk have made a lot of people happy in their own way. With her books, Rowling raised generations, while Musk, with his technological innovations, made the world a more globalized place. At the same time, both of them have recently been fighting what Musk calls the “woke virus” and have been at the center of numerous controversies due to their comments, which have often been labeled as homophobic and transphobic.
Recently, both of them involved themselves in the controversial story related to Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who represented Algeria at the 2024 Olympics in Paris in the women’s boxing category, where she won gold. Khelif supposedly has “XY chromosomes or elevated levels of testosterone” (this is why she was disqualified by the IBA recently), although no evidence for that has been given to the public. Her participation in the Olympics was at the center of controversy, and Rowling and Musk decided to react.
This is something we’ve already reported on a while ago, but the story has now received a major update, as the Gold Medal winner has decided to fire back against all the cyberbullies with a criminal complaint filed with the French prosecutor’s office.
After winning Olympic gold in Paris, Imane Khelif decided to fire back at everyone who had bullied her online, filing a criminal complaint, as the prosecutor’s office in Paris confirmed, Variety reports: “On Aug. 13, (The National Center for the Fight Against Online Hatred) contacted the OCLCH (Central Office for the Fight Against Crimes Against Humanity and Hate Crimes) to conduct an investigation into the counts of cyber harassment due to gender, public insult because of gender, public incitement to discrimination and public insult because of origin.”
Khalef’s Paris-based lawyer, Nabil Boudi, confirmed that the complaint was filed against X, which means an unknown person, which allows the prosecutor to investigate anyone who posted anything about Khalef that could be characterized as gender-based cyberbullying. This means, as Boudi confirmed, that “J. K. Rowling and Elon Musk are named in the lawsuit, among others. Trump tweeted, so whether or not he is named in our lawsuit, he will inevitably be looked into as part of the prosecution.”
