Simone Biles says All-Round Final was the Most STRESSFUL Ever due to ONE Surprise Reason as she makes an UNEXPECTED Shocking Announcement that She and Husband Jonathan Owens are expecting a…. See More
In a nail-biting finish at the Olympics, Simone Biles claimed her sixth career gold medal in the all-around final, but not without experiencing what she described as her most stressful competition ever. The reason? The relentless pressure from her formidable rival, Rebeca Andrade of Brazil.
On Thursday, Biles, 27, delivered an all-around performance that had fans on the edge of their seats.
After a less-than-perfect routine on the asymmetric bars, Biles found herself in an unusually tight race. Andrade, dazzling in a bright-yellow, glittering leotard, executed her routines with precision, closing the gap to just 0.166 points behind Biles as they approached the final apparatus.
The intensity of the competition was palpable. Biles, known for her composure and dominance, appeared visibly nervous. U.S. teammate and bronze medalist Sunisa Lee remarked, “I swear I’ve never seen you that stressed!”
Despite the pressure, Biles emerged victorious. However, she candidly expressed her relief and weariness. “I don’t want to compete with Rebeca no more. I’m tired,” Biles jokingly told reporters. “She’s way too close. I’ve never had an athlete that close, so it definitely put me on my toes and it brought up the best athlete in myself. So I’m excited and proud to compete with her, but I’m getting uncomfortable, guys. I don’t like that feeling. I was stressed.”
