Pierwszy set meczu Moniki Stankiewicz na juniorskim Wimbledonie był istnym rollercoasterem emocji. Niestety drugiej odsłony jej spotkania z Emily Sartz-Lunde nie zobaczyliśmy, ponieważ starcie było opóźnione o kilka godzin przez deszcz, a później zostało przerwane przez zapadające ciemności. Polka prowadzi jednak 6:4, a wznowienie tego meczu przewidziano na poniedziałek.Stankiewicz rozpoczęła mecz od przegranego serwisu. Szybko odpłaciła się rywalce tym samym, ale trzy kolejne gemy padły łupem Norweżki. Nasza młoda tenisistka odpowiedziała jednak serią pięciu wygranych gemów z rzędu i ze stanu 1:4 wygrała pierwszego seta 6:4. Dzięki temu jest w lepszej sytuacji przed poniedziałkowym wznowieniem spotkania.

Na lepszą z tej pary w drugiej rundzie zmagań juniorskiego kobiecego Wimbledonu czeka już rozstawiona z “5” Brytyjka Hannah Klugman. Pokonała ona wcześniej Włoszkę Vittorię Paganetti 7:6(4), 6:2.
