Taylor Swift earns longest-running UK Number 1 album with The Tortured Poets Department

The Eras Tour effect also sees five classic Taylor albums on the ascent inside the Top 40: Lover is up 12 (7), 1989 (Taylor’s Version) also lifts 12 (9), Midnights jumps 13 (13), folklore leaps 11 (14) and reputation vaults 17 (19).

After taking a lead earlier in the week, Charli xcx’s acclaimed sixth LP BRAT secures a Number 2 debut. Earning Charli her biggest opening week to date, BRAT’s first-week total eclipses that of her 2022 chart-topper CRASH.

BRAT also lands at Number 1 on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, crowned the best-selling record of the week on wax, and Official Record Store Chart, the most popular physical album of the past seven days in UK independent record shops.

In their 40th anniversary year, rock legends Bon Jovi score an 18th Top 10 album with Forever (3). It becomes the band’s highest-charting LP in nine years, since 2015’s Burning Bridges (3).

With the chart-topping success of latest single Houdini, Eminem’s omnipresent collection Curtain Call: The Hits lifts two to return to the Top 5 (5). Its sequel, Curtain Call 2, also rebounds two (26).

Norwegian singer-songwriter AURORA matches her previous Official Albums Chart peak this week. What Happened To The Heart? enjoys a Number 8 debut, joining 2022’s The Gods We Can Touch as her second Top 10 LP to date.

Meghan Trainor’s latest release Timeless earns her a third UK Top 40 LP (12), now sitting alongside 2015 debut Title (1) and 2016’s Thank You (5) in her Top 40 tally.

Woman of the moment Chappell Roan sees her debut record The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess crack the Top 20 for the first time, lifting 8 (15).

Californian blues musician Seasick Steve earns an 11th Top 40 album with A Trip A Stumble A Fall Down On Your Knees (23), as Official Afrobeats Chart-topper Tems celebrates her first with debut record Born In The Wild (25).

Following the release of latest single the boy is mine, Ariana Grande’s former chart-topper eternal sunshine returns to the Top 40 (34) and, finally, Peggy Gou nets her first-ever Top 40 LP with debut release I Hear You (39).
