Texas Tech fans show love to Patrick Mahomes during game against Colorado
Before he was a three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL League MVP, Patrick Mahomes led the Texas Tech Red Raiders to victory on Saturdays. A Texas native, Mahomes always shows love to his alma mater, and today, they showed it back to him.
This evening, the atmosphere is electric in Lubbock, Texas, as the Red Raiders host Deion Sanders and the No. 20-ranked Colorado Buffaloes.
The crowd would honor Mahomes as they hoisted up a banner in the stands with his face on it from his Texas Tech days. The banner read “It’s Showtime,” reminding everyone of the quarterback’s legacy that still holds up in Lubbock and his continued success in the NFL as a Kansas City Chief.
Mahomes was not in attendance for the game; he has a big divisional matchup tomorrow against the Denver Broncos, but he has been on social media throughout the day tweeting content surrounding the Red Raiders game tonight.
The reason is that Mahomes and Adidas partnered with Texas Tech to unveil the Mahomes brand of uniforms for the team to wear. Big Noon Kickoff on Fox aired a video promoting the brand to the masses this afternoon.
“You can go to a lot of different places to play sports… but to go somewhere where you’re part of a family, I think that’s what makes Lubbock so special.” @PatrickMahomes shares what it means to help design a @TexasTechFB uniform and have the team wear his logo ❤️?⚫️
